Once you have a free account you can then go through the application process by clicking on the Participation tab and choosing the contributors lounge. Once there you will see a large button that says “Become a Contributor.” If you click that button you will get to a screen that tells you the steps to becoming an i stock photo contributor and also you will find information about what percentage you will be paid based on whether you are an exclusive contributor or not.

If you choose to become an exclusive, which means exclusive to all the Getty affiliates-not just i stock photo, that percentage increases to anywhere from 25-45% according to their royalty schedules.

I have teens and young adults who are trying to decide what they want to do in their futures and we keep encouraging them to discover things they enjoy doing and then find a way to make a living doing that. Well, i stock photo is making that possible for them and for us. Now you may not be able to live off this income right away but if you invest a bit of time finding the most downloaded items and take some great photos and follow the simple instructions, you can be making money almost right away and without noticing, since you love what you are doing, you could be making a living doing what you love with i stock photo.
